- High Powered Laser.
- Paraffin Wax Therapy.
- Mobilisation massage.
- Nerve desensitisation.
- Exercise Rehabilitation.
Program Outline
Weekly treatments are ideal to help aid in the rehabilitation process. The standard regime of 4 x weekly treatments is recommended by your surgeon, prior to your six-week review.
High Powered laser Therapy
High Powered Laser is used to increase blood flow to help superficial and deep tissue healing as well as reduce inflammation and pain.
Paraffin Wax Therapy
Paraffin wax therapy involves the use of warm liquid wax to increase blood flow, reduce swelling, reduce pain and increase movement after surgery.
Manipulation and Splinting
After surgery, the foot requires movement to enhance surgical outcomes and return to functional weight bearing.
Specialist Podiatrists work on manipulation techniques and will:
- Assess the individual foot and surgical requirements.
- Implement exercises.
- Conduct manipulation appropriate to recovery.
Splinting is often used to help maintain post-surgical foot and toe alignment.
